2009 Ashland VA - 4th of July Parade 

NEW 4TH OF JULY PARADE ROUTE THIS YEAR! Line up at 10:00am at Henry Clay Elementary School. Parade steps off at 11:00am. Decorate your hat, pet, scooter, bike, or yourself, and join Uncle Sam on the Grand March that parades east on Hanover, right on Duncan by fire station, left on Myrtle, right on the tracks and ends 11:30ish at Stebbins, by the Hanover Arts & Activities Center. Enjoy a picnic lunch, apple pie contest, used book sale, music and many fun-filled activities. Best pet costume contest with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize. “Most Patriotic Pet” judging begins at 11:45am at the corner of Cox Lane and the railroad tracks (awards given at 12:15pm). Join walkers, decorated bikes and strollers, skaters, leashed pets, croquets corps, lawn chair brigade, kazoo band or make up your own group. New this year! Join folks from the Ashland Musical Variety Show and dance to “Lion Sleeps Tonight,” “Dancing Queen” and “Car Wash.” Walkers, bikers, strollers - no need to register - just show up! Blood Mobile will be on Stebbins from 11:00 - 2:00 for blood donations
